FREEDOM:
My struggle of freedom goes like this,
My fight with internet was not a bliss.
Having a lack of direction too,
A day without internet I could not do.

But one day I was listening online,
Till I heard this amazing line.
THE DEFINITION OF FREEDOM THE ABILITY TO SAY NO.

Suddenly it all clicked into place,
I soon realised I really was enslaved.
Freedom was not what I thought,
A no restriction policy, which I was taught.

My first major change came 2 years ago,
Only 1 day I told myself so.
Till it became 2
Then 4
Slowly but surely more and more…

For nearly a year I did it hard and well,
Even though I forget to mention the times I fell.
Time has passed and as I reach my destination,
One thing I learnt during this duration.
That only when I broke free,
Did I learn what was really happy.
For the teenagers in the same place as me

Though its pretty muted version of my story just put it into a poem.. not sure wat u guys think??? :)
Before I knew the best part of my life had come, it had gone…

THE DEFINITION OF FREEDOM THE ABILITY TO SAY NO.

That is so deep and powerful.

I really relate to what you phrased so beautifully... I too used to think that as long as I could do whatever I wanted in the world, THAT meant I was truly free, truly living, and truly following nothing but my own desires.

But for a smoker who feels FREE because they pick up cigarette after cigarette because 'I WANT TO', it 100% enslaved to smoking. The minute I could turn around and say 'this is what I want, but I recognize that it isn't good for me'- THAT'S true freedom, on so many levels.

I write like I've got this covered- and I really don't- so thanks for reminding me of this really important message.

This message is VERY applicable for Pesach, BasMelech- do you wanna add a stanza about Pesach and I'll publish it in the Pesach section of our articles?
'A person can't decide to sit on the sidelines in this world. Once we're born, we're on the playing field that means we have to pick up that ball of life's challenges and begin running with it towards our goal'

Basmelech101. You are a Bas Melech. ;)
you are 100% right.

Just curious who was the speaker? where did you listen to it?
Speaking of pesach, have you seen R'Twereskie Haggada. |He explains how the whole Seder is really learning how to free Yourself from your own self-slavery and slavery to to the world (drugs, alcohol, electronic, self image) it is really fascinating!
**They laugh at me because Im different,
I laugh at them because they are all the same.
**If you are not for yourself, who will be for you?

I bought that Hagaddah and it totally changed the way I relate to Pesach.

Oooh I'm gonna open a new thread for this :-)
